We spent Memorial Day in New York with my husband’s family and friends. Though it’s too busy of a place for me to live full time, I love visiting. Every time we visit I discover so many new things, it leaves me wishing we could just spend weeks there with nothing particular to do. Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to do that, so weekend trips it is.
The three days that we spent in NY were filled to the brim. I caught up with a friend I hadn’t seen in 20 years, who, to me, hadn’t changed a whole lot. She really just became a more polished version of herself over the years. We spent hours talking with family into the wee hours of the night, followed by the obligatory stop for pizza. We walked miles and miles through Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where the people watching is top notch during 80 degree days. I visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park for the first time. It was packed with tourists taking photos (yes, I was one), while a 20-something man played “Imagine” on his acoustic guitar. I teared up. I just love those Beatles. Their music has been the soundtrack to so many parts of my life.
All-in-all it was a fantastic weekend, and I can’t wait to go back. Here are a few things I was able to capture on my phone during my travels.
